Management Team
Tammy Maus, Executive Director:
Tammy Maus is the President and Executive Director of Bright Start Early
Education. Tammy Maus began Bright Start Early Education
in May 2000 with an empty building, and a vision to provide the
highest quality childcare available in a fun setting, while
honoring God and reaching out to all families. “It is mind
boggling to reflect back on when we started and contrast it with
our center today” states Tammy. Tammy has 25 years of experience
in the early childhood field. 19 years have been in
administration of early childhood programs as a director of both a
local center and a hospital based on-site center, district
manager and area operations manager for a national early education company.
Passionate
about working with small children and their families,
her degree is in Early Childhood Education and she is furthering
her education in Family and Child Studies at the University of
Central Oklahoma with the long term goal
of earning her doctorate in that area. Tammy is an educator for
OU/CECPD, teaching child care providers about child development
practices. Ms. Maus serves as an Advisor for the CDA
process. Her credentials include the National
Administrators Credential, Child Development Associate and the
Oklahoma Director’s Credential-Gold Level. She is a member of the Central
Oklahoma Friends of Early Education, NAEYC, NACCP, NCCA,
SECA, ECAO, OCCA, Norman Chamber of Commerce, Oklahoma Parent
Network, SPAN(Special Parents Access Network), Crosspointe Church and the Norman Success by Six/Smart
Start Oklahoma Initiative. Tammy is the Chairperson of the Central Oklahoma
Friends of Early Education organization. She serves on the advisory board of the Bright
Beginnings/PreK Collaboration Project of Norman Public Schools.
Both she and her husband Paul are
advocates for children with disabilities and their families. Tammy is proud to to be a lifetime resident of Norman,OK.
Together, Tammy and Paul are the busy working parents of five
children. Their four sons and one daughter range in age from
fifteen to one year of age.
Patti Siglin, Program Director:
Patti holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Education from UCO with
a heavy emphasis in Early Childhood Education and Family Life Education.
Her Associates
degree is in Family Studies and Child Development. Patti has
more than 16 years of varied experience in the child care and early
education field. She is proud to say that she has watched many of
Norman's four year olds come through her classroom, grow up, and
become very successful citizens. Patti
is an educator for OU/CECPD and
is the recipient of the Oklahoma Director’s Credential-Gold Level.
She serves as Vice Chairperson of the
Central Oklahoma Friends of Early Education.
Ms. Siglin serves as an Advisor for the CDA process.
She is involved with the Norman Success by Six/Smart Start
Oklahoma Initiative. She is passionate about making a
difference in the lives of children.
She and her
husband, Dennis, have two children, a son and a daughter.
They are active members of Immanuel Baptist Church, where her
husband serves as a Deacon.
